Playing Scores
To play back a score, make sure the score is open in the right-hand side of the viewer.
Play
Select Tools > Playback > Play from the Menu Bar to start playback.
Alternatively, you can use the Playback Toolbar or keyboard shortcut +.
Note that the keyboard shortcut for each option is shown next to the option.
If you see the note of the score lighting up green, but hear no sound:
- Make sure your computer speakers are turned on and the volume is up
- Check the volume settings on your sound devices; make sure you do not have "Mute" checked
- Make sure your sound card is configured with the Online Sheet Music Viewer (See Menu Bar > Tools > Preferences – Play)
Highlight
You can easily follow along with playback as Online Sheet Music Viewer highlights the chords it plays in green (default). You can change this color in your Preferences.
During playback the viewer will automatically move through the pages of the score so you always have the part of the score that is being played, in front of you.
If you prefer not to have chords highlighted during playback, then set the highlight color to black in your Preferences.
Pause
The options Pause and Stop will become available as soon as playback is started.
Select Tools > Playback > Pause from the Menu Bar to halt playback.
Alternatively, you can use keyboard shortcut = or the Playback Toolbar.
When Play is clicked again, the score will begin playing from the point where Pause was activated.
Stop
The options Pause and Stop will become available as soon as playback is started.
Select Tools > Playback > Stop from the Menu Bar to stop playback.
Alternatively, you can use keyboard shortcut - or the Playback Toolbar.
When Play is clicked again, the score will start playing from the beginning.
